Lindstrom Park opens in the spring and offers horseshoes, volleyball and softball fields. Men and women’s modified softball games are encouraged.

The New Germany Fire Department Relief Association hosts its annual softball tournament in the summer. Fire departments from all over Carver County participate in the tournament. Usually, 16 teams compete in the tournament.

The New Germany Commercial Club will be hosting its 30th annual all-you-can-eat fish fry Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008. The club then teams up with the fire department to sponsor the annual Harvest party in city hall Friday, Oct. 31, with games and treats for children.

Santa Claus comes to the Ranch House in December 2008, for the annual holiday party. Children have the opportunity to tell Santa in person what they want for Christmas, have their photograph taken with him, and enjoy holiday treats.
